Alright liberals... question: Is it better for a high school kid to be unemployed, or for them to get a job somewhere for three bucks an hour, learn some skills, and gain work experience? And more importantly, if someone wants to work for a given amount… who the fuck are you to tell them no?
Thomas Sowell pointed out "The minimum wage is always zero." Absolutely goddamn right. The worst thing you can do for poor people is chop off the bottom rungs of the latter. Why the fuck do you think teen unemployment is at 24%?
What was true back then is true today, the government isn't fucking magic. (Now this may not be most riveting video you've ever seen, but the points it makes are key):

Government subsidized Ethanol: worse for the environment than oil, massively raises food prices, and starves poor African children to death... yep sounds like the government. It's funny, normally when a group of people do something that "accidentally" results in thousands of dead little kids, it's kind of a big deal.

One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results. We all know a famous road that is paved with good intentions. The people who go around talking about their soft heart -- I share their -- I admire them for the softness of their heart, but unfortunately, it very often extends to their head as well, because the fact is that the programs that are labeled as being for the poor, for the needy, almost always have effects exactly the opposite of those which their well-intentioned sponsors intend them to have.
